Title: Building Maintenance Engineer

Department: Operations 

Location: The Baths Hall

Reporting to: Technical Manager

Hours: 37.5 HPW

Salary: £20,000 to £25,000 per annum

Main Purpose of the Job

This is a key role responsible for carrying out Planned and Reactive Maintenance at The 

Baths Hall and The Plowright Theatre.

Main Duties:

1. Ensuring all Maintenance tasks including PAT testing are carried out within best 

practice and to relevant standards.

2. Ensure all Maintenance works are carried out within time scales.

3. Ensure Health and Safety is met at all times (including environment and safe 

systems of work policies).

4. Ensure the Building Management System is operating correctly.

5. Maintain excellent relationships with internal departments and Local Authority 

Representatives.

6. Work as part of the Duty Management Team on a rota basis.

7. Any other duties assigned by the Technical Manager.

Skills & Competencies Required:

1. You must hold the 17

th

Edition and have a proven track record as an Electrical 

Maintenance Engineer. 

2. You must have worked on Maintenance of LV Electrical Distribution Systems, 

UPS Systems, General and External Lighting, Fire Alarms and CCTV / Door 

Entry Systems.3. You need to have knowledge of current Health and Safety and be prepared to 

keep up to date.

4. You will need to have a working knowledge outside of your core skills 

(Mechanical/Electrical).

5. You need to be IT literate and have excellent communication skills.

6. You must hold a full driving licence and be prepared to undergo CRB checks.

7. Experience of Heating, Water, Power, CHP and AHU would be an advantage.

8. The requirements of the business are such that a high degree of flexibility is 

necessary and some evening and weekend work would be required.
