The Scunthorpe Pods has won a award three months after opening voted most sustainable building/development award of the year award at the prestigious ceremony awards at Leeds.

The brand new Leisure Centre built by the council will be Scunthorpe newest attraction when it is completed in the late summer 2011 to included will be.

 

  • Eight lane, 25 metre swimming pool
  • Teaching pool
  • Six court sports hall
  • 85+ station gym over two levels with Life fitness gym equipment
  • Two fitness studios offering 50+ classes per week
  • Sauna, steam room and spa
  • Creche
  • Cafe
  • Meeting rooms

    •  This will be great for Scunthorpe as i feel it really needs something like this to keep it moving with the times, course the new Baths Hall is also great for the area, these venue will rival Doncaster Dome, Sheffield arena and the Grimsby auditorium.The Pods will be covered in natural material as many of you will have seen when driving past it, it thought to be the first time in this country that this type of contruction has been used for a leisure facillity.

     

     

     

     

     

     Scunthorpe Council are set to open the pods on the 4th July and there are some pre-opening offers you can take advantage of

    Three months free membership for the first 100 to join.
    Two months free membership for the second 100 to join
    One month free membership for the third 100 to join
    No joining fee for the fourth 100 to join.

    Gym in Scunthorpe 

    The Pods gym boasts an impressive 85+ pieces of life fitness equipment over two floors.

    This includes equipment for people with disabilities. Opening hours as below

    Monday-Friday 7am-10pm, Saturday and Sunday 8am-6pm
