   Scunthorpe museum
   The museum was built in the year (1874), the building was the old Frodingham vicarage which was built on the site of  Frodingham  hall. Now the museum isa great day out for the whole family telling the stories of North Lincolnshire through exhibits.
   A new archaeology gallery has been added allowing people to see a walk through North Lincolnshire  human history. New archaeology display cases and graphic panels which show some great local objects including Winterton Roman Cup. A “new spotlight on showcase” has been added and will change every six months with different  themed objects. More info is available at this is Scunthorpe

Visual Arts Centre

Located at St Johns Church which was converted into the Visual arts Centre, it offers exhibitions, activities and events. Now in its ninth year arts centre has attracted over 400,000 visitors. St Johns church was the heart of a thriving community and a place of worship until it was deconsecrated in 1984.It remained disused and derelict. Has been transformed into its  former glory and has been extended with the Arts Centre. Includes many facilities including café, art and craft shop, and spaces for regularly updated art and craft exhibits. With an education room and meeting room hire facilities. Plowright Theatre.

The theatre was built in 1958 and seats around 354 persons. Originally known as Scunthorpe Civic Theatre and received it Plowright name in the 1990’s in achievements of local actress Joan Plowright. Most famous person the play at the theatre has to be Lee Evans who became the fastest sell-out in the theatres history in 2008. The theatre has undergone a major refurbishments recently of its restaurant to make it more modern and fresh décor. The council hope to use the new café bar area for things such as small evening performances, music events, stand-up comedy club, youth theatre, Bollywood performances and “Music in the bar”. The café is open for lunch 12pm until 2pm Monday-Friday. Check out events on our community page.

Normanby Hall Country Park

Normany Hall is a classic English mansion, the present hall was built in 1825-30 for the Sheffield family who lived on the site since1539. The Hall is now in the hands of North Lincolnshire council. It is now a country park within a restored Victorian walled garden, a farming museum, a stableyard, duck ponds, a deer sanctuary and a miniature railway. The wife of David Cameron the Prime minister grew up on Normanby hall estate.
